Shapes, textures, and colors resonate within us, evoke the hidden or forgotten, and can transcend conceptual thinking.  For me, abstract painting is raw expression somewhat unmediated by cultural-laden imagery and language.  The pieces ask you to stop and look for a minute, both at the image, and within.
